Asante Kotoko secures fourth consecutive victory with 2-0 win over Bibiani GoldStars

Asante Kotoko continued their impressive form with a commanding 2-0 triumph over Bibiani GoldStars in a Matchday 15 clash on Friday night at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Captain Justice Blay gave the Porcupine Warriors an early lead in the 18th minute, confidently converting a penalty after Ndongani Samba Gilbani’s goal-bound header was blocked by a GoldStars defender’s hand.
Kotoko dominated the game, keeping the visitors under constant pressure with their relentless attacks.
GoldStars’ hopes of mounting a comeback were dashed in the 36th minute when Bright Boakye Kyereh was shown a red card for a reckless challenge on Peter Amidu, leaving the visitors with 10 men for the remainder of the game.
The second half saw Kotoko maintain their dominance, and Kwame Opoku doubled their advantage in the 74th minute with a stunning finish that highlighted his composure and skill.
Opoku had earlier come close to scoring with a flying header just before halftime.
Samba Oniel’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
The victory is Kotoko’s fourth consecutive win, showcasing their rising momentum in the league’s title race.
With this result, Kotoko climbs to second place on the league table with 27 points.
They now turn their focus to a crucial Matchday 16 encounter against Medeama SC at the TNA Park.
