FIFA Women’s Rankings: Black Queens rise to 3rd in Africa, 62nd globally
The Black Queens have risen five places in the latest FIFA Women’s Rankings, climbing to 62nd globally following a series of impressive displays since August.
The 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) bronze medallists were previously ranked 67th.
Currently sitting third on the continent behind Nigeria and South Africa, the Ghanaian team's rise reinforces their position among Africa’s elite.
The ascent reflects a dominant campaign at this year’s WAFCON in Morocco, coupled with a commanding 7–0 aggregate victory over Egypt in the 2026 tournament qualifiers.
The Queen's only setback during this period was a December friendly against England.
Having secured qualification for the next WAFCON, Ghana now looks to preparations for the 2026 edition, scheduled to take place from March17 to April 3 in Morocco.
