Barcelona set to sign first Ghanaian youngster David Oduro on Loan
Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona are on the verge of completing a loan deal for Ghanaian teenager David Oduro from Accra Lions.
The 18-year-old will join Barcelona's renowned La Masia Academy in Catalonia, where he will have the opportunity to display his skills with hopes of earning a permanent move next summer.
Oduro’s transfer will make him the first player to move directly from a Ghanaian club to FC Barcelona, marking a significant milestone in his young career.
Earlier this year, Oduro underwent training at English club Chelsea in an effort to secure a contract, showcasing his ambition and talent on the international stage.
He has been one of the standout performers in the local Ghanaian league, impressing with his performances for Accra Lions.
So far in the ongoing 2023/24 league season, the talented midfielder has played in 15 of the 17 matches, scoring one goal in a 1-1 draw against Bibiani Gold Stars.
Oduro's move to Barcelona represents a promising step for the youngster, who will aim to make a lasting impression at La Masia and secure his future with one of Europe’s elite clubs.
