Coach Kwesi Appiah 'abandons' Sudanese team over unpaid salaries

The manager of Sudan’s national team, James Kwesi Appiah, according to AfricaSoccer.com, has refused to join the team's training camp due over unpaid salaries.
Sudan’s Falcons of Jediane are in preparation for 2026 World Cup qualifiers happening this month. For this purpose, the team is in Saudi Arabia for a 12-day training camp, but without its manager.
Though the Sudan Football Association is working to resolve impasse, Kwesi Appiah avoided meeting with the Vice President of the Sudan FA, Osama Atta Al-Mannan, after a visit to Ghana.
Sudan is at the top of Group B for the World Cup qualifiers, with 10 points, following their first four matches. The team clashes with Senegal on March 18, and South Sudan on March 24.
Meanwhile, the Falcons have a friendly against Jordan before the aforementioned games, which will see them in Libya on March 17.
