The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has launched its Girls for Goals programme.
The programme is line with the GFA’s vision of promoting and improving women’s and grassroots football so as to increase participation in the sport.
The launch of the 9-month empowerment initiative aimed at advocating gender equality through sports, education, and healthy lifestyles, took place on Tuesday, November 25, 2024, at the Keta Business School, Volta Region.
It was led by the GFA Deputy General Secretary (Admin), Ama Brobey-Williams.
She remarked, "The Girls for Goals programme is a critical initiative that aligns with the GFA's vision of promoting women's football and empowering girls through sports. We believe that every girl has the potential to achieve greatness, and we are committed to providing them with the support and resources they need to succeed."
"Girls4Goals embodies our vision of focusing on sustainable development, one community at a time. Our ultimate goal is to nurture a generation of change-makers who are equipped to contribute positively to their communities. We envision Girls4Goals as a scalable template for nationwide impact," she emphasised.
The Girls for Goals programme, providing training and mentorship primarily girls aged 10-18, has significant support from FIFA, La guilde, GIZ, and GFA.
