Gerald Asamoah Foundation: 40 surgeons arrive in Ghana from Germany to care for hole-in-heart pediatric patients
Forty top medical doctors have arrived in Ghana to perform remedial procedures on children with hole-in-heart issues.
The charity initiative is championed by a Ghana-born German international football star, Gerald Asamoah.
Every year, the Gerald Asamoah Foundation embarks on this journey as an act of giving back to the country of his birth, Ghana.
In a social media video, the doctors were all smiles arriving in Accra via the Kotoka International Airport (KIA), Monday, November 4, 2024.
Gerald Asamoah during his active years played for star clubs like Schalke, Hanover, and FC St Pauli. He played for the German national team, also.
In 2016, he received the FIFA Fair Play award on behalf of all football organisations supporting refugees during the FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala 2015 at the Kongresshaus in Zurich.
He now uses his celebrity and resources for philanthropic purposes, including delivering quality healthcare to the underprivileged.
