Otto Addo names Black Stars squad for friendlies against Japan and South Korea
Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, has announced his squad for Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies against Japan and South Korea, introducing several new faces to the national team setup.
The matches, scheduled for November 14 and 18, form part of Ghana’s build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, as Addo continues to fine-tune his squad and assess emerging talents.
With a number of senior players either being rested or ruled out through injury, Addo has handed opportunities to several promising youngsters.
Notable among the new call-ups are Czech Republic-based forward Prince Kwabena Adu, Medeama SC winger Kelvin Nkrumah, and FC Montreal attacker Prince Osei Owusu.
The team is expected to assemble in Nagoya, Japan, for their first training session on Wednesday, ahead of their opening fixture against Japan in the Kirin Cup on Friday.
The Black Stars will then face South Korea four days later, as part of efforts to strengthen team cohesion and test tactical options before the resumption of competitive fixtures.![]()
