Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to bolster the Black Stars’ video analysis department as the team steps up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The call comes as Ghana continues to refine its technical setup ahead of the global tournament, with Belgian coach Gregory de Grauwe currently serving as the team’s sole video analyst while also managing set-piece responsibilities.

De Grauwe, who holds a UEFA B Coaching License, has earned plaudits since his appointment earlier this year for his role in improving the Black Stars’ tactical organisation and match preparation.

However, Minister Kofi Adams believes the team needs additional technical support in that area to compete effectively on the world stage.

“The area of video analysis must be improved, and I don’t think we should go to the World Cup with just two video analysts,” the Buem MP told Accra-based UTV.

“I have my own view — we should have more video analysts at the World Cup.”

With seven months to go before the tournament kicks off, the Minister’s remarks underscore the government’s desire to ensure the Black Stars are comprehensively equipped to face the world’s best teams.

Ghana will discover its group-stage opponents on December 5, as the team looks to bounce back from its early exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and make a stronger showing in North America next summer.
