Stanley Quarshie: Ghanaian U-20 defender on trials at Chelsea
Chelsea FC has offered Ghanaian footballer Stanley Quarshie a trial opportunity with the English Premier League club’s youth wing.
A VIM Academy player, Quarshie went to London, UK, to train with Chelsea’s youth team hoping to do a deal upon conclusion.
Stanley Quarshie is a leftie centre-back admired for his versatility and agility. Scouts spotted him during his standout performance at the 2024 Samba Stars International Tournament. He joined Chelsea after two successful weeks with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Other Ghanaians who have been on trial programmes at Chelsea (The Blues) include defender David Oduro, 18; and midfielder Fatawu Ganiwu, 16.
Recently, Barcelona beat Chelsea to permanently signing David Oduro.
Ghanaians who have famously played at Chelsea include: Michael Essien, Baba Abdul Rahman and the late Christian Atsu.
