UDS pays courtesy call on GFA after historic Africa University Games victory
The University for Development Studies (UDS) has paid a courtesy call on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) following their historic triumph at the 2025 Africa University Games and ahead of their participation in the upcoming World University Games in China.
UDS etched their name in the history books by defeating Nigeria’s Lagos State University 3-0 in the finals to emerge champions of the continental tournament.
With the victory, UDS has earned the honour of representing Africa on the global stage at the World University Games scheduled for September 2025.
The high-level delegation from UDS was led by the institution’s Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof Elliot Haruna Alhassan, and included key officials such as the Deputy Director of Finance, Dr. Alhassan Iddrissu; Head of Registry, Mr. Yussif Abdulai; Director of Sports, Mr. Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko; Head of the Accra Office, Mr. Ansa Michael; and Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Abdul Hayi Moomen.
The visit to the GFA was aimed at strengthening institutional relations and exploring areas of collaboration as UDS prepares to fly the flag of Ghana and Africa in China.
The delegation expressed gratitude for the support of the football community and reiterated their commitment to excellence in sports and academics.
