Cocoa Producer Price increased by 12%

The government has announced an increase in the producer price of cocoa to GHS3,625 per bag, equivalent to GHS58,000 per tonne.
The new price, which takes effect tomorrow, Friday, 3rd October 2025, represents a rise of about GHS400 per bag—an increase of 12.27 percent compared to the price announced in August.
Minister of Finance, Casiel Ato Forson, said all existing margins, fees, and rates for stakeholders, including COCOBOD, remain unchanged.
He noted that COCOBOD will continue to roll out interventions aimed at boosting cocoa production and improving the livelihoods of farmers.
These include the intensified distribution of free inputs such as fertilisers (liquid and granular), insecticides, fungicides, spraying machines, and flower inducers.
Additionally, COCOBOD reaffirmed its commitment to launching the Tertiary Education Scholarship Scheme for the children of cocoa farmers in the 2026/27 academic year.
