The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has inaugurated a new office in Dormaa in the Bono Region, marking a major step in its mission to expand access to licensing and regulatory services across Ghana.

The inauguration ceremony, chaired by the Gyaasehene of Dormaa, Barima Buabasa Oppong Yaw Ababio, brought together traditional leaders, political authorities, and senior officials of the DVLA.

The Authority’s Governing Board, led by Chairman Mr. George Spencer Quaye, and Management, led by Chief Executive Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey and his deputies, Lawyer Foster Akwasi Asante and Mr. Yeboah Seidu Iddisah, were all in attendance.

Bono Regional Minister, Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboah,  hailed the development as a long-awaited relief for residents, who previously had to endure long travel hours to access DVLA services.

“That challenge has come to an end,” he noted, commending the Authority for bringing its operations closer to the people.

Member of Parliament for the area,  John Adu Jack, and Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Dominic Adomah Ameyaw, also expressed appreciation to the DVLA leadership for selecting Dormaa for the office, which they described as a boost to local development.

In their remarks, both the Board Chairman and the Chief Executive of DVLA urged residents to take full advantage of the new facility, stressing the importance of responsible road use, compliance with licensing regulations, and support for the Authority’s modernisation agenda.

The Dormaa office adds to the DVLA’s growing network of service centres nationwide, reflecting the Authority’s commitment to accessibility, efficiency, and safety in Ghana’s transport sector.
