Dr. Ato Forson to unveil 2026 budget on November 13

 Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson is set to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on November 13, with a focus on job creation, economic growth, and tax reforms as Ghana prepares to exit its IMF programme in May 2026.

 The budget is expected to include key policy measures such as

Tax Reforms - Review of the COVID-19 levy to ease the tax burden on businesses and households,  Reduction of Value Added Tax (VAT).

Job Creation and Economic Growth - Targeted investments in sectors driving productivity, innovation, and youth employment.

Fiscal Management- Managing the fiscal deficit and expenditure amid rising debt service obligations and critical infrastructure needs

 The 2026 Budget is expected to signal a major policy shift, reflecting the Mahiana administration's own economic priorities and development agenda.

With Ghana set to exit the IMF programme in May 2026, the budget will be closely watched for its post-programme strategy.
