PURC educates Tain district hospital staff on tariff reckoner & PECE
The Bono East Regional Office of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has educated Staff, Management and the Advisory Board of the Tain District Hospital at Nsawkaw, in the Tain District, on its Electricity Tariff Reckoner and the PURC Electricity Consumption Estimator (PECE).
The PUCRC Tariff Reckoner is an App developed by the Commission, which consumers can use to calculate their consumption in monetary terms, and of the PECE can also be used by consumers to estimate their monthly electricity consumption both in Kwh and GHS, using the PURC gazetted tariffs.
The recent engagement, which was part of the quarterly staff durbar, offered staff, management and the advisory board the opportunity to learn about the establishment and key functions of the PURC, rights and obligations of consumers, obligations of utility service providers, the capital contribution policy, new service connection procedure, the complaints procedure, Tariff Review Decision for the fourth quarter of 2025 and energy and water conservation tips.
Dr. Philip Taah-Amoako, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, expressed his appreciation to the PURC team for providing insights to his staff, management and the hospital advisory board.
He urged the participants to take the education very important, giving the assurance that the engagement will go a long way to help the facility in its daily electricity and water usage.
