Energy Minister inaugurates new board for GNPC Explorco

The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor (MP), has inaugurated the newly constituted Board of Directors for GNPC Exploration and Production Limited (Explorco), the upstream subsidiary of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister underscored Explorco’s pivotal role in Ghana’s petroleum sector, stressing the need to boost exploration activities in order to secure the country’s long-term energy future.
“The goal is to ensure a sustainable increase in oil reserves, which will contribute significantly to Ghana’s revenue generation and enhance our energy security,” Mr Jinapor said.
He further tasked the new board to ensure that Explorco remains competitive on the global oil and gas stage while adopting strategies that align with Ghana’s green transition agenda.
The newly inaugurated board is composed of:

Samuel Opoku Arthur (Ag. Managing Director)
Stella Bondzie
Kwame Ntow Amoah
Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, MP for Ledzekuku
The Energy Minister expressed confidence that the diverse expertise of the board members will help strengthen Explorco’s operations and position it as a leader in Africa’s oil and gas industry.
