Madam Joycelyn Quashie, Member of Parliament for North Dayi Constituency in the Volta Region, has rolled out a skills training initiative under her Agrogrowth Project, aimed at equipping constituents with employable knowledge in mushroom farming and food processing.

The three-month pilot programme, launched in partnership with agricultural and agribusiness experts, is training 250 participants in mushroom cultivation and processing, alongside modules in gari and rice processing.

To support trainees, the programme is providing basic Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as Wellington boots, overcoats, gloves, and sanitisers, as well as a monthly stipend to ease their participation.

Speaking at the opening session, Miss. Quashie urged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity.

She stressed that the skills acquired would enable them to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to the local economy. She further assured participants of her commitment to supporting them beyond the classroom, including facilitating access to markets for their produce.

The training, currently being implemented in Awate, Wusuta, and Tsrukpe, is expected to be expanded to the other traditional areas in North Dayi by October this year.
