Ghana Gas engages Italian Embassy to deepen energy cooperation and investment
Officials of the Ghana National Gas Limited Company have engaged the Italian Embassy in Accra to explore avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on investment opportunities in Ghana’s gas sector.
The engagement took place earlier today when the Head of Ghana Gas’ Corporate Affairs Division led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Italian Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs Laura Ranalli, at the Italian Embassy. The Deputy Ambassador, Mr Gabriel Ubaldo Palermo, was also present at the meeting.

The discussions formed part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between Ghana and Italy, leveraging diplomatic channels to attract direct Italian investment into Ghana’s energy industry.
The Ghana Gas team highlighted the company’s strategic role in the country’s energy value chain and outlined key capital projects currently being implemented to support power generation and industrial growth.
The delegation underscored the importance of international partnerships in advancing Ghana’s gas infrastructure and enhancing energy security, noting that increased foreign direct investment would support technology transfer, capacity building, and long-term sector sustainability.

Ambassador Ranalli welcomed the engagement and reaffirmed her commitment to fostering stronger ties between the Italian Embassy and Ghana Gas. She expressed readiness to support initiatives that promote mutually beneficial cooperation between Italian businesses and Ghana’s gas sector.
The meeting reinforced the shared interest of both parties in expanding economic and energy cooperation, positioning the embassy as a critical link in facilitating investment and partnership opportunities between Italy and Ghana.
