Figures released by the Bank of Ghana show that Ghana recorded US$399.65 million in petroleum-related income during the second half of 2025, marking a significant drop compared to receipts for the same period in 2024.

Details contained in the Semi-Annual Petroleum Holding Fund (PHF) report indicate that the earnings, which include proceeds from crude oil exports and petroleum taxes, were lower than the US$369.25 million generated from crude oil liftings alone in the latter half of 2024. The data points to weaker performance in the country’s petroleum revenue stream.

Between July and December 2025, inflows to the PHF were derived from two primary sources. Proceeds from crude oil liftings at the Jubilee and Sankofa Gye Nyame (SGN) fields amounted to US$198.25 million, following the lifting of two Jubilee cargoes and one SGN cargo by the Ghana Group, represented by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

The remaining revenue came from corporate income taxes and interest earnings, which together contributed US$201.40 million. This included US$198.09 million in tax receipts and US$3.31 million in interest accrued on the Petroleum Holding Fund.
