President John Mahama has announced plans to introduce new incentives aimed at supporting businesses and driving job creation across the country.

This initiative forms part of the government’s broader private sector empowerment strategy to tackle unemployment and stimulate economic growth.

Speaking on behalf of the President at the First Sky Group Thanksgiving Service, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah emphasized the administration’s commitment to engaging the private sector to enhance economic development.

“As part of the resetting agenda, we will hold consultations with businesses across various sectors and grant certain concessions to enable them to thrive and create jobs,” he stated.

In a related development, First Sky Group has unveiled plans to construct a 200-megawatt renewable power plant in northern Ghana over the next two years.

The project is expected to complement ongoing energy initiatives aimed at enhancing Ghana’s power supply.

Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, Eric Kutortse, confirmed that the initiative, being developed in collaboration with Bui Power Authority, is 65% complete and is set for completion by the second quarter of 2025.

“The First Sky Group has taken a bold step to secure funding for the construction of a solar PV plant in Yendi.

This project will significantly contribute to Ghana’s energy sector,” Kutortse assured.

First Sky Group is a diversified, wholly Ghanaian-owned conglomerate with subsidiaries spanning hospitality, construction, insurance, banking, commodities trading, and bitumen processing.

The group currently employs over 3,800 workers across the country.

Founded in 2002, the group’s flagship company, First Sky Construction Limited, started with just three employees but has grown to a workforce of over 1,200 permanent staff and 1,700 casual workers.

Frerol Rural Bank was established in Kpando, with an additional branch in Ho opened in 2021.
