Your dumsor localised – ECG to customers

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has reassured Ghanaians of a stable power supply from the National Grid, consisting of hydro producers and Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
Any customer experiencing power fluctuations is attributed to localized faults, according to ECG's management.
In a statement dated March 29, 2024, ECG urged customers facing power outages to contact its contact centre at 03026 11611 or report via social media handles such as ECGgh Official for immediate action to rectify the outage and restore power supply.
The statement also extended apologies for any inconvenience caused and wished customers a happy Easter.
Meanwhile, approximately 25 communities in Greater Accra will experience intermittent power outages.
These include areas such as Ghana Steel, Palace Mall, Furniture Citi, Kpone Barrier, and others. ECG attributed these outages to a shortfall in power supply from the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) to specific bulk supply points.
While ECG did not provide a specific timeline for when power would be restored to these areas, it assured affected customers that once GRIDCo resumes supply, power will be restored accordingly.
The situation has sparked complaints on social media platforms, with some Ghanaians expressing frustration.
The minority caucus in parliament and the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission have called for the publication of a load-shedding timetable by ECG. However, Energy Minister Mathew Opoku Prempeh dismissed this request, stating that there was no need for one and suggesting that those making demands should create one themselves.
