Ashanti and Nelly 'expecting' first child together

Ashanti and Nelly have solidified that spinning the block may be worth the risk, because she is reportedly pregnant.
According to US Weekly, an anonymous source confirmed that the “Baby” singer is expecting her first child with her “Country Grammar” beau. Nelly has two children—a 29-year-old daughter, Chanelle and a 24-year-old son, Cornell Haynes III—from a previous relationship.
Rumors of Ashanti’s pregnancy stemmed from a video that surfaced over the weekend at Nelly’s Black and White Ball. The host chanted, “Seal the deal,” as the former Murder Inc. signee and the rapper rubbed her belly. Concealed behind her black dress, the two erupted in a fit of giggles as the fans recording them questioned their suspicious exchange by yelling, “Wait, what?!”
Ashanti and Nelly dated on and off for a decade before rekindling their romance earlier this year. As rumors began to fly regarding their reunion, Bow Wow urged the St. Louis native to “STOP PLAYING AND MARRY THIS WOMAN BRO!” They confirmed their relationship the following month.
Since then, the two have been labeled a successful example of “right person/wrong time,” especially at the height of several high-profile relationships coming to an end.
On Rasheeda’s Boss Moves podcast, Nelly revealed that getting back with Ashanti surprised them both.
“It wasn’t anything that was, like, I don’t think planned. I think we both was pretty much doing what we do. But sometimes being separate, you understand one another more,” he explained. Meanwhile, Ashanti flaunted their love at the 2023 VMAs by putting a photo of them from the night they exchanged numbers in 2003 on her purse.
