Highlife/Funk star FRA! has expressed its love to the children of the Assurance of Hope for the Needy Orphanage in Teshie Nungua, a suburb of Accra.

The Ghanaian band made a donation of food items, toiletries, stationery, clothing, etc, to the children of the orphanage.

Assurance of Hope for the Needy was chosen because the community is home to the FRA! band members: George, Joshua, Selorm, Martin, Ishmael, and Christian.

The donation was made on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the premises of Assurance of Hope for the Needy.

“You guys are all lovely, and we’re so touched, we’re very happy to be doing this and fellowshipping with you this morning,” remarked bassist and band executive George Ashrifie Gogoe.

“You already have seen the items we donated but we believe there are somethings that you need that we don’t know you need so we decided to add some cash it,” he added.

At this the children gleefully cheered.

Gogoe explained the donation was in partnership with the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill brand. It was at the iconic +233 Jazz Bar and Grill venue, North Ridge, that, on Saturday, September 26, FRA! hosted their benefit concert for the orphanage. The concert also marked the climax of their 2023 Europe and United Kingdom Chale Wote Tour. Proceeds from their patrons at +233 amply enabled the band's show of love expressed to the Hope of Assurance children.

“As we already stated, this initiative is not just about the band. We also have [a representative from] +233 here who also played a major role. I know they don’t like being in the spotlight but they are still here,” Gogoe said.

He stressed holding a white envelope: “This is a cash donation which you can use to get other things that we were not able to bring to you here at the Assurance of Hope Orphanage.”

The children gave another round of applause.

The girl who shook and received the cash donation from Gogoe's hand said a hearty thanks.

“On behalf of Assurance of Hope for the Needy, we say a very big thank you and may God take you to a higher level,” the girl who looked like a 12-year-old said.

A child lifted their voice to say amen. The others responded in rapture.

“Thank you, may God bless you,” they all said in unison.

They finally chanted the chorus of FRA!’s latest hit, I Dey Feel the Vibe.
