MCE addressing the General Assembly

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu West, Tamimu Halidu, has announced plans to convert the former site of the Boboshanti Pub in Nkawkaw into a modern recreational centre aimed at boosting tourism and increasing the municipality’s revenue.

The Boboshanti Pub, once a popular entertainment hub in Nkawkaw, was demolished several months ago following a series of violent incidents that tragically led to the deaths of eight people.

Speaking at a General Assembly meeting in Nkawkaw, Mr. Halidu said the decision to redevelop the site into a recreational centre forms part of the Assembly’s broader vision to promote social development and create a safe, family-friendly space for residents.

“The transformation of the Boboshanti area into a recreational facility will not only beautify the town but also enhance local revenue generation,” the MCE stated.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Daniel Nkrumah, also revealed that the Nkawkaw Central Market is being considered for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) reconstruction to further improve economic activity and boost internally generated funds.

He encouraged interested investors and business entities to approach the Assembly for discussions, adding that the redevelopment project would create business opportunities and contribute to the overall modernisation of Nkawkaw.
