Joe Mettle also writes songs – Luigi Maclean
Best Male Vocalist nominee at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) and gospel artiste, Luigi Maclean has disclosed that Ghanaian gospel musician Joe Mettle also writes songs.
Luigi disclosed this in an interview with Prince Benjamin on the Class Drive on Class91.3FM, Thursday, 28 May 2020.
He said: “There are times even at rehearsal he gets songs [Inspiration for music] and we go through them. At a point, there might be something that is maybe hitting, it hits. There’s been moments like that, where you get a hook or one line that just sticks. Like it stays on and on.
“Countless times, at rehearsals stuff like that has happened and then maybe probably we go over and over the same thing at rehearsal, maybe the following week he comes with a full set, like a full song out of that hook. I mean there’ve been countless times.”
In the artiste’s opinion, Joe Mettle is popular because it’s from God’s own purpose to make him great.
“If God hasn’t allowed you to be great, you can never be great. So I believe that first, it’s from God’s own purpose to make him great, to make his name great. So that’s God. I think another that also makes him very likeable is how humble he is. He’s quite down to earth. He’s quite relatable, like everyone can relate to him. So I think God and his humility.”
Luigi who used to be a member of gospel music group, Joyful Way Incorporated was featured on Joe Mettle’s award winning song titled ‘Bo No Ni’.
He is also currently promoting his new song titled ‘Oguama’ featuring MOG.
