Lil Win hopes ‘leaders, government, investors’ will support his Weezy Empire Film Village

Kwadwo Nkansah, alias Lil Win, has said his 14-plot Weezy Empire Film Village in Kwamang-Boaman, Ashanti Region, is “completely self-funded, with no penny from anyone else”.
Speaking on Akwaaba, Accra 100.5 FM’s after-drive programme, hosted by Summy Brown, however, the comic actor expressed willingness to accept help.
“I pray God touches the leaders, investors, or a certain government, to come give us support” he said.
The Kumawood star said: “Ordinarily, this is the work of government but they all come and go with nothing done in this respect.
“We cannot sit unconcerned also because we became prominent, by God’s grace, because of the movies so if no one will do it, we must take the initiative. Now that I have started, with all Ghanaians as witnesses, if a government comes, it can come support us at Weezy Empire camp. We’ve already started, and God will earmark someone to support us for the work’s advancement.”
Lil Win also noted the overwhelming success of the premiere of his Mr President movie.
“My intention was to change the status quo, and beat that record, and make movie premiering in Kumasi a huge success, just like in Accra, because we shoot almost 80 per cent of the [Kumawood] movies here,” he indicated.
“There was such an overflow of audience that people sat where it was not even conducive. We had to even add a conference hall to seat about 300 more people.”
