Mawuli Semevo: National Theatre hosts March 27 tribute event for late film, theatre star

The National Theatre is set to host Remembering Mawuli Semevo, a tribute event in honour movie and theatre legend Mawuli Semevo.
The event will happen in the National Theatre's main auditorium on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 6:30 PM, when there will be performances, tributes, and storytelling sessions, with prominent creative arts figures present.
Semevo retired as the director of Drama Company, a resident performing troupe at the National Theatre.
In 2024, he portrayed Baba Fakunle when Image Bureau and April Productions hosted an adaption of Ola Rotimi’s The Gods Are Not To Blame.
Semevo passed on Thursday, February 20, 2025, after suffering complications from a domestic burns accident. He died at the Ridge Hospital, Accra.
