Yogot: Junka Town star dead

Junka Town star Yogot, born Osuman Idrees, has died.
While the cause of death is not definitively known, social media speculations, per a viral video, suggest he died due to complications from a boil in his throat. In the video, the comic is seen showing what looks like a boil under his chin and towards his throat region to the camera, while gesturing with his right hand it inhibits his eating and drinking.
Also, according to one Destiny Riverson Bentil on Facebook, the last time he spoke to Yogot was via text on WhatsApp. The screen grab he shared of said conversation showed what appeared to be Yogot complaining about his teeth aching and inhibiting his eating and drinking of water. He said he could not even speak so he was avoiding answering phone calls. Even more, he had no money to go to hospital.
Yogot's death came to the notice of classfmonline via a Facebook post by singer-songwriter Kofi Kinaata who mourned him.
Yogot was an actor in the Takoradi-based Junka Town hit series. He is said to have passed away at the Great Faith Clinic in the Efsa Crentsil Building at Effakuma, Takoradi, Western region, Tuesday morning, June 11, 2024.
His Junka Town mate Judge Abakah spoke to Connect FM in Takoradi, noting except for the boil, he was in relatively good health.
“He wasn’t seriously ill, it was a minor sickness. He had a normal boil and it wasn’t as if he had been sick for a long time,” he said.
On Facebook, Nero X grieved, in Pidgin: "This life is really not fair, indeed," praying: "Well, rest easy soldier."
Respecting his Islamic faith, Yogot was buried promptly following his passing.
Meanwhile, according to Junka Town actor Debbie Jackson, who has revealed she had a child with Yogot on June 8, 2018, the latter was the second younger sibling of Junka Town star Too Much.
"They had one father but different mothers," she clarified in a now-popular interview with Official Gunshot TV.
