Otumfuo destools Ejisu-Kyerekrom Dikro for breaching sacred oath

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has officially destooled Opanin Kwaku Kyere, the Ejisu-Kyerekrom Dikro, following his breach of the Great Oath.
This sacred oath is a cornerstone of Ashanti tradition, symbolising trust, integrity, and loyalty within the Ashanti Kingdom.
The destoolment, announced on Tuesday, 17 September 2024 marks a serious response to what is deemed a profound violation of the Ashanti Kingdom's values.
The Great Oath, with its deep cultural and spiritual significance, is considered integral to maintaining the principles that unite the community.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, known for his commitment to upholding Ashanti customs and ensuring justice, personally oversaw the destoolment process.
His decision came after a meticulous examination of the evidence, highlighting his dedication to preserving the kingdom's esteemed traditions.
"This action reaffirms our commitment to the integrity of our customs and the principles that define our community," Otumfuo stated.
