Tabital Pulaaku International, a Fulani welfare organisation, has condemned what it describes as reckless and unfounded allegations made by a security analyst, Andrews Asiedu Tetteh, who claimed Fulani herdsmen were trafficking firearms into Bawku by sellotaping weapons onto their cattle.

Mr Tetteh, in an interview published by Rainbow Radio Online on July 31, 2025, alleged that the guns were concealed on the backs and stomachs of the cattle to evade security checks. He claimed his assertion was based on two weeks of personal research and further suggested that Ghana’s security services were unaware of the tactic.

The Fulani group, however, strongly refuted the claims.

In a statement released on August 5, 2025, Alhaji Yakubu Musah Barry, the General Secretary of Tabital Pulaaku International, challenged Mr Tetteh to provide credible evidence to support his allegations within three days, apologise using both print and electronic media or face legal action.

Alhaji AYakubu described the claims as “reckless, insensitive, and professionally inappropriate,” warning that such statements could incite targeted attacks against innocent Fulani communities and disrupt ongoing peace-building efforts in Bawku.

“If Mr. Tetteh truly has credible evidence, he should submit it to the appropriate authorities rather than inciting fear and mistrust through public media, we are also calling on the management of Rainbow Radio to pull down the story,” Alhaji AYakubu stated.

He further emphasised the need for responsible communication on sensitive national security matters, adding that the Fulani community had long suffered from unfair stereotyping and should not be further endangered by baseless accusations.

He said no security agency had confirmed the claims made by Mr. Tetteh, and no physical evidence had been made public.

Tabital Pulaaku International called on the media, civil society organisations, and law enforcement to act with caution and professionalism, and urged authorities to investigate the matter. The group noted they were ready to assist the police.
