Energy Minister inaugurates Electricity Market Oversight Panel
The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has inaugurated a 10-member Electricity Market Oversight Panel (EMOP) tasked with safeguarding the stability and efficiency of Ghana’s electricity market.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Minister commended the panel members for their expertise and pledged the Ministry’s full support and guidance in the execution of their mandate.
He also directed the panel to undertake a comprehensive review of the operations, procedures, and manual of the wholesale electricity market to ensure transparency and efficiency.
Chairman of the panel, Mr. Samuel Sarpong, assured that the EMOP would operate strictly in line with the newly approved market rules as well as existing sector policies and regulations.

The EMOP is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening regulatory oversight, promoting transparency, and enhancing investor and consumer confidence in Ghana’s electricity market.
