The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Simon Madjie, joined President John Dramani Mahama and other leaders on a visit to the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) following the President’s keynote address at the Africa Singapore Business Forum.

At SIT, the delegation observed how students integrate academic studies with real industry experience, as well as the strong collaboration between universities and businesses in preparing graduates for the future of work.

The team also toured Biopolis, Singapore’s premier biomedical hub, where public and private institutions collaborate to drive research, innovation, and economic growth.

Key lessons identified for Ghana include the need to deepen university–industry collaboration, promote applied learning and internships, strengthen partnerships in life sciences, and align research with job creation and improved livelihoods.

President Mahama reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to building such partnerships to advance education, innovation, and healthcare, stressing that these are critical for national development.
