Ghanaians calling for a probe

Citizens across Ghana, particularly in the Volta Region, have expressed deep sorrow and shock following the tragic military helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, which claimed the lives of all eight individuals on board.

Among the deceased were two Cabinet ministers, senior government officials, and three members of the Ghana Air Force.

The crash occurred during an official assignment in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.

Speaking to Class News, several residents in the Volta Region described the incident as devastating and unfortunate, lamenting the profound national loss.

“Their passing is not only a devastating blow to their families but also a profound loss to the entire nation they worked tirelessly to serve and protect,” a resident shared.

Many citizens are now demanding a transparent and thorough investigation into the cause of the crash, emphasising that accountability and clarity are crucial to preventing future tragedies of this nature.

In addition to their calls for a probe, some citizens strongly condemned the circulation of graphic images of the deceased on social media.

They urged the public to show respect for the dignity of the victims and compassion for their grieving families.

“It’s deeply inappropriate to post images of their remains.

These were public servants and patriots.

Let’s honour their memory with decency,” one citizen remarked.

The Ghana Air Force helicopter was carrying:

Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence

Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation

Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, Deputy National Security Coordinator and former Minister for Food and Agriculture

Along with other government staff and air force personnel
