Gov't receives remains of 8 dead from Z9 heli crash
Chief of Staff led a government delegation to receive the mortal remains of eight individuals who died in the Adansi helicopter crash.
The solemn ceremony took place on Wednesday night, August 6, 2025.
The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Z9 helicopter crashed Wednesday morning after taking off from Accra to Obuasi. The occupants all burned to death in the crash.
Christian and Islamic clergy prayed over the coffins of the eight, who included statesmen and military personnel, named below:

2. Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed - Minister for Environment
3. Alhaji Muniru Mohammed - Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
4. Dr Samuel Sarpong - Vice Chairman, NDC
5. Mr Samuel Aboagye - Former Parliamentary candidate
6. Squadron leader Peter
7. Flying Officer Twum Ampadu
8. Sergeant Ernest Addo
