IGP interact with high-risk trained officers ahead of Akwatia by-election

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) have engaged personnel who recently completed a High-Risk Operation Training programme at Akyeremanteng in the Eastern Region.
The interaction forms part of preparations to ensure a peaceful and secure atmosphere ahead of the upcoming Akwatia by-election.
The specialised training was designed to equip officers with advanced operational skills to manage potential security threats, protect lives, and maintain law and order during the polls.
During the visit, the IGP commended the personnel for their dedication and urged them to uphold professionalism, discipline, and respect for human rights while on duty.
He emphasised that the Ghana Police Service remains committed to providing a safe environment for all stakeholders in the electoral process.
The Akwatia by-election, scheduled for September 2, 2025, follows the passing of the constituency’s Member of Parliament earlier this year.
