The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of LaDMA, Alfredos Nii Anyetei, in collaboration with the Member of Parliament (MP) for La Dade-Kotopon Constituency and Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, donated relief items to residents affected by the recent floods within the municipality.

The donation exercise, held on Friday, 3rd July 2026, formed part of the Assembly's emergency response to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to households impacted by the floods.

The relief items were procured with support from the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama and the LaDMA Trust. Beneficiaries received essential household supplies, including mattresses, blankets, bags of rice, cooking oil, sardines, tomato paste, mosquito nets, cups, buckets, plates, tea bags, spaghetti, and washing basins.

Officers of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) coordinated the sorting and distribution of the items, ensuring a transparent, orderly, and efficient process. The exercise was successfully conducted, with all identified beneficiaries receiving the needed support.

The event was attended by the Member of Parliament, the Municipal Chief Executive, the Presiding Member, Assembly Members, officials of NADMO, and staff of the La Dade-Kotopon Municipal Assembly, demonstrating a united commitment to supporting vulnerable residents during difficult times.

Speaking at the event, the leadership reaffirmed the government's commitment to responding swiftly to disasters and ensuring that affected communities receive timely assistance.

They further encouraged residents to continue observing safety measures during the rainy season and to cooperate with authorities on disaster preparedness initiatives.

Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation to President Mahama, the LaDMA Trust, the Member of Parliament, the Municipal Chief Executive, and all stakeholders for their timely intervention, describing the donation as a significant source of relief as they recover from the devastating effects of the floods.

LaDMA remains committed to protecting lives and livelihoods by working closely with government agencies, development partners, and community stakeholders to build a safer, more resilient municipality.
