NIA suspends Ghana card replacement

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the suspension of Ghana card replacement at its headquarters in Accra with effect from January 5, 2022.
The suspension will be lifted on 17 January 2022.
It is not clear why the NIA has temporarily suspended its service.
Meanwhile, a section of the populace is frustrated with their inability to secure their Ghana cards or replace them.
Most Ghanaians are eager for their Ghana cards to enable them to beat the deadline for the ongoing SIM card registration which is expected to end in March this year.
