UEW gets Governing Council

A new Governing Council for the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) was on Thursday, 5 September 2019 inaugurated by the Minister of Education, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh in Accra.
This brings to an end the tussle over the school’s legitimacy to make certain key reforms, award certificates and hold congregations following the non-existence of the council.
In July this year, the university suspended its planned and publicised congregation for the 2018/19 graduands indefinitely due to the absence of the Governing Council.
Apart from the council for UEW, Dr Prempeh also inaugurated a separate Governing Council for the University of Development Studies (UDS).
