C/R: Mankoadze youth demonstrate over bad road

General News
Youth of Mankoadzi demonstrating over their bad road in the Central Region

Some youth of Mankowadze in the Gomoa West Constituency of the Central Region on Tuesday, 7 March 2033, after a heavy downpour, poured out in their numbers to register their displeasure about the bad state of their roads.

The youth, clad in red, narrated how a 5.5-kilometre road in the area has been neglected.

According to them, since 2012 when the culverts on the sides of the road were installed, nothing has been seen by way of construction.

They said the road has been left to deteriorate, making commuting on it very difficult.

A spokesperson for the angry youth, Mr McCarthy, told the host of the Ghana Yensom morning show on Accra 100.5 FM, Odeyeeba Kofi Essuman, on Tuesday, 7 March 2023, that nobody is going to be allowed to vote in next year’s general elections if the roads in the area are not fixed.

He warned that if the road from Apam Junction to Mankoadze is not constructed before the next elections, no political party will be allowed to canvass votes in the area.

He narrated how citizens have continuously voted for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the presidential elections yet have nothing to show it.

He noted that in the area, the NPP wins the presidential elections while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wins the parliamentary seat.

They threatened to remove and burn all political signposts erected in the area.
