Ghana Army, UK EOD team hold graduation for IEDD trainees
The Ghana Army School of Ammunition and Explosives (GASAE), in collaboration with the United Kingdom’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Short-Term Training Team (STTT), has successfully held a graduation ceremony for participants of the Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) Basic and Assistant Course 2–25.
The ceremony marked the culmination of intensive training designed to equip Ghanaian military personnel with the skills required to safely detect, disarm, and dispose of improvised explosive devices — a growing threat in contemporary security operations.
Held under the auspices of the Ghana Armed Forces, the training is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the country’s counter-IED capabilities through international partnerships and technical expertise.
Graduates of the course were commended for their dedication, discipline, and resilience throughout the programme.
Officials from both the Ghana Army and the UK EOD STTT emphasised the importance of continued cooperation in strengthening regional security and enhancing operational readiness against explosive threats.
