Ghana Post proposes commemorative stamps in Otumfuo's honour

The management of Ghana Post is planning to produce a commemorative stamp in honour of Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The Managing Director of Ghana Post, Bice Osei Kuffour, disclosed this when he led management members of the company to visit the Manhyia Palace on January 26, 2023.
The visit according to Mr Kuffour was to inform the King about the International Intergovernmental Corporation and the Ghana Post Philatelic Committee’s proposal to launch the commemorative stamp in his honour.
The King, according to him, accepted the proposal and nominated a member to serve on the Board to develop the stamps.
“We had discussions on that and he has accepted the proposal and we will be working with his representatives at Manhyia to come up with themes for the stamp,” he said
He noted that the stamps will go all over the world because Ghana Post is part of the International Postal Union.
In his view, this will be a major tool for tourism in Ghana because “all over the world wherever this stamp will get to, they will know that there is a great King in Ghana.”
The Company hopes to launch the stamp before Otumfuo’s 25th Anniversary in 2024.
