It’s “well-deserved”, Akufo-Addo on Ethiopia PM’s Nobel Peace Prize

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has applauded Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for winning the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize.
Ahmed beat a total of 301 candidates who were nominated for the prestigious award, including 223 individuals and 78 organisations.
The Ethiopia Prime Minister was awarded the prize for his efforts to "achieve peace and international cooperation".
Ahmed led Ethiopia to make peace last year with bitter foe Eritrea.
This ended a 20-year (1998-2000) border war.
Nana Akufo-Addo, in a congratulatory tweet to his Ethiopian counterpart, said: “It is well-deserved, and a reminder to us all that peace is one of the most critical ingredients needed to make Africa successful.”
