Military High Command makes headway in 21st century land issue
After years and decades of waiting to be allocated parcels of land acquired under the 21st Century Land Scheme, the Military High Command has made an unprecedented stride in ensuring that personnel receive their properties.
This comes at the back of the commissioning of a 100-acre residential land by the Chief of the Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Seth Amoama, at Gomoa Fetteh, Central Region followed by issuance of indentures to some serving and retired personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces on Friday 8 December, 2023.
Vice Admiral Amoama congratulated beneficiaries and said when he assumed office, the major complaint he received from personnel was their inability to acquire their 1998-paid lands, hence the Military High Command formed a committee, led by Deputy Chief of Staff responsible for Administration, Air Vice Marshal Michael Appiah-Agyekum, to address the issue and propose a solution.

He emphasised the commitment of GAF to assist personnel, both serving and retired, in addressing difficult issues related to lands acquired through GAF arrangement. He commended the Paramount Chief of the Gomoa Fetteh Traditional Area, Nana Ablor Atta II for agreeing to allocate land to GAF to settle personnel who were unable to obtain their plots through 21st Century Land Scheme.
Nana Ablor Atta II said residents of Gomoa Fetteh Traditional Area are willing to assist GAF with land allocations for developmental projects, and urged the beneficiaries to start their projects without fear of intruders.

Beneficiaries in an interaction with AFnews, expressed how elated they were to finally receive their parcels of land after a long wait.
