Minister for Food and Agriculture engages Ghanaian diplomats on agricultural investment opportunities

The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr. Eric Opoku, has called on Ghanaian diplomats to champion the promotion of investment opportunities in the country’s agricultural sector as part of their mandate to advance Ghana’s economic interests abroad.
Speaking at an engagement session held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mr Opoku highlighted critical areas of agriculture that require urgent foreign investment.
These include poultry processing, cashew processing, and shea processing—sectors he described as having significant potential to boost Ghana’s export earnings and create jobs.
The Minister underscored the need for diplomats to actively network with investors in their host countries and facilitate strategic partnerships that will accelerate agro-industrial development.
“Our embassies and missions must be the first point of contact for investors who want to explore Ghana’s agricultural space. We need you to market these opportunities and attract the right investments to strengthen our economy,” he said.
The session brought together Ghanaian envoys from across the globe, who pledged their commitment to advancing the agenda of agricultural transformation through investment mobilisation and trade facilitation.
