Tamale to host Ghana Institute of Planning’s 54th AG confab in November

The Ghana Institute of Planning (GIP) has announced that its 54th Annual General Conference and Meeting (AGCM) will be held in Tamale from Thursday, 27th November to Friday, 28th November 2025 at the Modern City Hotel.
Themed “Shaping Ghana’s Tomorrow: The Role of Planning in Driving Economic Growth, Job Creation, and Sustainable Urban Development,” the conference aims to bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including planning professionals, policymakers, academics, traditional authorities, development partners, and private sector players.
The 2025 AGCM will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, technical sessions, exhibitions, and the Institute’s statutory general meeting.
It will also serve as a platform to showcase innovative planning models and development projects that are contributing to Ghana’s socio-economic transformation.
In a statement signed by GIP President, Pln. Percy Anaab Bukari, the Institute emphasised that this year’s conference is particularly significant, as it comes at a time when Ghana is grappling with challenges such as rapid urbanisation, youth unemployment, and spatial inequality.
According to the statement, the conference aims to reinforce the vital role of planners in building resilient cities, creating economic opportunities, and advancing inclusive and sustainable development policies.
The GIP extended an open invitation to all stakeholders within the planning, governance, and development sectors to join the milestone event in Tamale.
