Bernard Bediako Baidoo elected NDC PC for Akwatia by-election
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has elected Bernard Bediako Baidoo, the party’s Akwatia Constituency Secretary, as its Parliamentary Candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Akwatia Constituency of the Eastern Region.
Baidoo emerged victorious in a keenly contested internal election, earning the mandate to lead the party into the by-election following the declaration of the seat as vacant by the Electoral Commission.
His election is seen as a strategic move by the NDC, leveraging his deep grassroots connections and experience within the constituency.
Party executives and supporters have expressed confidence in his ability to recapture the seat for the NDC, citing his long-standing service, organisational skills, and commitment to the party’s vision.
The Electoral Commission has announced September 2 as the date for the by-election.
Meanwhile, political activities are already intensifying in Akwatia as parties prepare for a fiercely contested race.
