FDA CEO being investigated over $100,000 bribe

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) is investigating its Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Delese Mimi Darko, in connection with an alleged $100,000 bribe.
Mrs Darko, according to a Joy News documentary, demanded $100,000 from the manufacturer of COA-FS, through the FDA’s head of Legal Affairs, Cynthia Dapaah Ntow, to enable him to continue selling his product.
However, a statement from the Board Chair of the FDA, Dr Sammy Ohene, said the matter had been under investigation since April 2020 by the National Security.
“The CEO has reported the matter to the Board Chairman and the Administration is following its internal investigation and disciplinary processes,” the statement said.
