Ghana Medical Trust Fund supports life-saving surgery for midwife with brain aneurysm
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has successfully supported a life-saving brain aneurysm surgery for 36-year-old Rebecca Odarquaye, a midwife whose condition required urgent medical intervention costing GHS210,840.
The surgery was carried out successfully at Euracare Spring Hospital, where Rebecca is now reported to be out of danger and recovering steadily.
Before the intervention, Rebecca’s condition posed a serious threat to her life, placing immense emotional and financial strain on her and her family.
Through the timely support of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, the much-needed funds were secured, restoring hope at a critical moment.
The Administrator of the Fund, Adwoa Oboubia Darko Opoku, expressed profound appreciation to the Euracare Spring Hospital surgical team, led by Professor Benjamin Sarkodie, for their professionalism and expertise, which contributed to the successful outcome of the complex procedure.
Rebecca, a dedicated midwife, is expected to make a full recovery and return to her profession, where she provides essential maternal care and helps bring new lives safely into the world.
Madam Opoku reaffirmed the Fund's commitment to supporting Ghanaians facing critical health challenges, noting that the Fund’s interventions go beyond medical treatment to restore dignity, hope, and lives.
