8 ministerial nominees set for grilling today

The Appointments Committee of Parliament is set to vet eight ministerial nominees today, January 30, 2025, with the process beginning at 8:00 a.m.
First to appear before the committee will be Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, the Minister-designate for Labour, Jobs, and Employment.
He will be followed by Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, the Minister-designate for Environment, Science, and Technology, at 9:00 a.m.
Also scheduled for vetting are Samuel Nartey George, nominated for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, and Kofi Iddie Adams, the Minister-designate for Sports and Recreation.
After a short recess, the proceedings will resume at 12:30 p.m. with Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister-designate for Foreign Affairs, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, the nominee for Transport, and Issifu Seidu, the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability.
The final nominee to be vetted will be Mrs. Charity Gardiner, the Ahafo Regional Minister-designate.
The vetting process aims to evaluate each nominee’s competence, vision, and suitability for their respective ministerial roles before parliamentary approval.
