Bagbin swears in new Ejisu MP Kwabena Boateng

The Speaker of Parliament, Mr Alban Bagbin, has sworn in Kwabena Boateng as the newly elected Member of Parliament for the Ejisu constituency in the Ashanti Region.
Mr. Boateng won the recent by-election with 27,782 votes, representing 55.8% of the total ballots cast.
His closest rival, independent candidate Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, received 21,534 votes, accounting for 43.3% of the vote.
The by-election was held following the death of the former MP, John Kumah, whose service to Ejisu was fondly remembered.
After administering the oath, Speaker Bagbin congratulated Mr. Boateng on his election, formally addressing him as "Honourable Kwabena Boateng."
He welcomed him to the house, saying, "Honourable member, you are welcome to the house, and I will give you your tools, which you must hold jealously tight."
