Dec. 7 Polls: Vote for leaders who’ll build Ghana, not enrich themselves – Rev. Appiagyei to Christians

Rev. Kingsley Appiagyei, Head Pastor of Trinity Baptist Church worldwide, has urged Christians to be mindful of their voting choices in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
He emphasized the importance of selecting leaders who are committed to building the nation, rather than those who seek to enrich themselves at the expense of the ordinary citizen.
In an interview with select media ahead of this year’s Integrity Conference in Accra, Rev. Appiagyei encouraged Christians to vote with a clear conscience, cautioning against accepting money in exchange for votes.
"This is not the time to collect money and vote for any candidate," he said. "Do your civic duty by voting for those who have the nation’s best interests at heart."
He further stressed that the church must not be seen as compromised during the election process and warned that Christians, like all others, will suffer the consequences if they fail to vote with integrity.
Explaining the theme for this year’s Integrity Conference, Rev. Appiagyei noted that the word “integrity” has been absent in Africa’s political and social landscape for far too long.
The conference, scheduled from September 23 to 29, 2024, is aimed at reminding Africans, particularly those in leadership positions, to prioritize integrity in their actions.
"Integrity among Africans must begin with the church," he stated, underscoring the crucial role of faith communities in promoting ethical leadership.
Speakers at the conference will include notable men of God such as Rev. Mensa Otabil, Eastwood Anaba, Dr. Boadi Nyamekye, Ampiah Kwofie, and Prophet Abednego, each chosen for their expertise and influence in promoting integrity within their ministries.
